Some people will play this song on the 4th of July and think it tells of all the great things in America. They obviously don't listen to the song. It actually represents some of the harshest criticism about America's involvement in the Vietnam War, but also the way it treated its veterans when they returned home. In other words, there's much more depth here than just the lyrics "Born in the U.S.A."! Kudos to Bruce Springsteen:
