The Most Important Songs of the Rock Era: Songs That Changed the World--"Imagine" by John Lennon

This is typically the day for New Year's resolutions, but of course they don't work.  You have to instead make them affirmations (which basically means that you believe and can see yourself changing and seeing the positive effects of that change, and is most powerful using visual imagery and putting the resolution in the past tense--i.e. I look so much better now that I've lost 20 pounds, people comment every day on how good I look.", etc.)  So make an affirmation to honor Lennon's legacy and see the world at peace.  Imagine a world void of greed and hunger.  And then affirm it.
"Imagine"
by John Lennon

Written by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
