The Lineup for the Rest of the Year

As we come down the home stretch of our major musical special, The Top 100 Artists of the Seventies*, which will conclude on January 8, we also have plenty to feature through the end of the year.

Two end-of-year features that have become quite popular will continue--The Top Songs of 2014* and our tribute to those musicians, songwriters, artists, and executives of the Rock Era who passed away this year.  Both are lined up for New Year's Eve so don't miss those!

Of course, we serve a fresh copy of the Calendar* each day for you to remember what happened on this date during the Rock Era.  We have focused on The Top 100 Artists of the Seventies* to make it easy and enjoyable for you to listen to.  When that concludes, we'll bring back our array of other features, such as Top Tracks*, In Concert*, Hits Lists*, and Discographies*.

Meantime, we'll get ready for three other music specials next year.  The Top Love Songs of the Rock Era* will play during Valentine's Week.  Inside The Rock Era will then begin our big 60th Birthday bash for the Rock Era in March, playing some of the top songs just outside The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era*.  This will coincide with the anniversary of the release of the movie Blackboard Jungle in 1955, which featured "Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley & the Comets.  On April 1, we'll begin The Top 500 Songs*, featuring 10 each day for the next 50 days.  The special is timed so that on July 9, we will play The Top 10 Songs of the Rock Era on the exact day that the Rock Era began; namely, the day that "Rock Around The Clock" became the first rock & roll song to reach #1.

Immediately after that monumental special is done, we will begin work on our other major music special--The Top 100 Artists of the Rock Era*.  If we have accomplished one thing during The Top 100 Artists of the Seventies*, it is to show how difficult it is to make that list, and how amazing the artists included in that special are.  On a grander scale, think how hard it will be for an artist to make The Top 100 Artists of the last 60 years!  Out of the tens of thousands of artists in that time, if not hundreds of thousands, we will present The Top 100*.

All that and more to look forward to--on Inside The Rock Era!
