In case you didn't know, tomorrow, July 9th, marks the official beginning of The Rock Era. There had been a few rock songs on the chart sporadically, but when Bill Haley & the Comets reached #1 on July 9, 1955, it was the first time a rock and roll song led the way on the chart, kicking off 57 magnificent years of dominance.
