This group was one of the great innovators of the New Wave movement in the late 70's and early 80's. They were at their best when their lyrics had a cutting edge, as you can tell by the songs that are the cream of the Pretenders' crop. You could just buy Learning To Crawl and get many of the songs below. Which only says how great that album is, but the quality of the Pretenders goes far beyond it:
