This 90's group was formed by two undergrads at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.--Matthew Scannell and Keith Kane. The two performed as a duo from 1991-1996, when they added drummer Ed Toth and bassist Sean Hurley. By 1998, the group's indie albums had attracted major attention, and Vertical Horizon signed a major recording contract with RCA Records.
