Hits List: Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR)

For most of the Rock Era, this San Francisco band ranked among The Top 10 Artists.  They still are way up there.  Creedence was together less than four years--you can look at their unbelievable track record and just wonder what they could have achieved had they stayed together for 10-20 years.  It's highly impressive; they did more in four years than most groups do in 10 or 20.  They loved the #2 spot, hitting that spot seven times.  Here is the complete Hits List from CCR:

1968:  "Suzie Q" (#11)--highly underrated.
            "I Put a Spell On You"--highly underrated.

1969:  "Proud Mary" (#2)
            "Bad Moon Rising" (#2)
            "Lodi" (#52)--highly underrated.
            "Green River" (#2)
            "Commotion" (#30)
            "Down on the Corner" (#3)

1970:  "Travelin' Band" (#2)
            "Who'll Stop the Rain" (#2)
            "Up Around the Bend" (#4)
            "Run Through the Jungle" (#4)
"Lookin' Out My Back Door" (#2)
"Long As I Can See the Light" (#2)
1971:  "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" (#8)
            "Hey Tonight" (#8)
            "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" (#6)

1972:  "Someday Never Comes"
1976:  "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" (#43)--vastly underrated.

That's 20 hits in four years, and they didn't even release many of their great songs.  13 of them made the Top 10 and most very high.  Most of the others that didn't should have, but radio blew it.
