This song almost single-handedly brought rock & roll back to the forefront back in 1982. Soft Rock had led the way for much of the early 80's after disco dominated in the late 70's. Joan Jett from Philadelphia, played guitar for the Runaways from 1975-1978. She then formed her backing group, the Blackhearts, in 1980, and took off on her own:
