We created this category to showcase songs that for one reason or another, were not hits and may not be familiar to you. Many were not released, many lacked proper promotion by the record company, many faced stiff competition at the time they were out, and many were simply ignored by radio. Whatever the reason, we believe they should have made the Top 10, and we showcase them approximately one per week. It's a growing list, and you can access the complete collection at any time by clicking on the link at the top of the website.
This group is certainly no stranger to the Top 10; in fact they own three of The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era*. But this one slipped through the cracks, a statement about the hopes and dreams of a generation and what they could accomplish.
"Enter The Young"
Association
Words and Music by Terry Kirkman
Here they come
Here they come
Here they come, yeah
Some are walking, some are riding
Here they come, yeah
And some are flying, some just gliding
Released after years of being kept in hiding
They're climbing up the ladder rung by rung
Enter the young, yeah
Yeah, they've learned how to think
Enter the young, yeah
More than you think they think
Not only learned to think, but to care
Not only learned to think, but to dare
Enter the young
Yeah, here they come some with questions, some decisions
Here they come And some with facts and some with visions
Of a place to multiply without the use of divisions
To win a prize that no one's ever won
Enter the young, yeah
Yeah, they've learned how to think
Enter the young, yeah
More than you think they think
Not only learned to think, but to care
Not only learned to think, but to dare
Enter the young
Here they come, yeah
Some are laughing, some are crying
Here they come
And some are doing, some are trying
Some are selling, some are buying
Some are living, some are dying
But demanding recognition one by one
Enter the young, yeah
Yeah, they've learned how to think
Enter the young, yeah
More than you think they think
Not only learned to think, but to care
Not only learned to think, but to dare
Enter the young
Here they come
Here they come, yeah
