P.F. Sloan, who wrote such songs as "Eve Of Destruction" for Barry McGuire, "Secret Agent Man" for Johnny Rivers, "You Baby" and "Let Me Be" by the Turtles, "Where Were You When I Needed You" by the Grass Roots and "A Must To Avoid" by Herman's Hermits, died of pancreatic cancer today in Los Angeles. Sloan, who sang falsetto on Jan & Dean's "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena", was 70.
