Songs That Changed the World--The Most Important Songs of the Rock Era: "Black & White" by Three Dog Night

It may be hard to believe there was a time when we didn't respect people that were a different color, what with an African-American president and everything in 2011.  There were serious struggles, protests and events that brought about racial change but this song too helped in its own way.  By reminding us that in the end, we're all people, Three Dog Night gave us a goal to strive for with an inspirational message.
"Black & White"
by Three Dog Night

Written by David I. Arkin and Earl Robinson

The ink is black, the page is white
Together we learn to read and write
A child is black, a child is white
The whole world looks upon the sight
A beautiful sight

And now a child can understand
That this is the law of all the land
All the land

The world is black, the world is white
It turns by day and then by night
A child is black, a child is white
Together they grow to see the light
To see the light

And now, at last, we plainly see
We'll have a dance of liberty
Liberty

The world is black, the world is white
It turns by day and then by night
A child is black, a child is white
The whole world looks upon the sight
A beautiful sight

The world is black, the world is white
It turns by day and then by night
A child is black, a child is white
Together they grow to see the light
To see the light

The world is black, the world is white
It turns by day and then by night
A child is black, a child is white
The whole world looks upon the sight
A beautiful sight

The world is black, the world is white
It turns by day and then by night
A child is black, a child is white
Together they grow to see the light
To see the light

C'mon
Get it
Get it
Ohh-ohhhh yeah
Yeah
Keep it up now, around the world
Little boys and little girls
Yeah
Yeah-eah, oh-ohhh
