A documentary of the Beatles directed by Ron Howard is being shopped to buyers at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival in France, running through May 24. The film was made with the full approval and cooperation of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the widows of John Lennon and Geoerge Harrison, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison.
The documentary provides rare footage and a behind the scenes look at the Beatles in their years as a touring band. The movie follows the group from their early performances at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, England through their final official show in Candlestick Park in San Francisco in 1966.
Potential buyers are being shown some of that rare live footage that will appear in the documentary, including performances for the Beatles shows in Hamburg, Germany.
