Several websites report that Aretha Franklin sang the U.S. national anthem at the Democratic National Convention on July 15, 1992. She sang it, but those reporting it happened on July 15 must have been in a daze all of July 14 and didn't find out about it until they read The New York Times on July 15, reporting about the events of the day before. According to the book Aretha Franklin: The Queen of Soul by Mark Bego, Franklin sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" July 14.
