Several websites claim that No Nukes, a documentary showing the benefit concerts from Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt and others, opened on Monday, July 16, 1980 in New York City. That on the surface seems like an odd day of the week to premiere a movie.
When one researches the event, you find that according to the city's newspaper, The New York Times, No Nukes opened July 18 at Cinema I in NYC. That date is confirmed by the book Jackson Browne: His Life and Music by Mark Bego.
