The Eagles made history with their next release, although it wasn't with another album of new material. After their fourth studio album, One of These Nights, the group released their greatest hits. After only four years of being together, they not only had enough outstanding material for a compilation, from the release of Their Greatest 1971-1975, the Eagles owned the #1 album of all-time for much of the 20th century. Michael Jackson's Thriller continued to sell as well after 1983, and eventually overtook it with 30 million units to 29 million for the Eagles.
